Is there still a chance?

So today marks my 2nd day late of my period making it about 2 weeks ago I ovulated. I took a hpt this morning (not my first pee) on a dollar store test, and it was negative! :( should've tweaked it! Well the past few days I haven't been having my normal pms. No sore breasts, no cramping, no spotting, nothing. Yesterday I had a little bit of diarrhea and awful gas, kind of queasy, I even cried over a stupid YouTube video. I had spotting as well for about an hour a week after ovulation. I was really freegin sure I was pregnant. But now I don't know what to think :,( was it too cheap of a test to use? Do you think I can test again today on a better one, or should I just give up and try again next month?
