Whooping Cough Vaccination & Vaccination Period

Hello I am 30 weeks and my doctor is stressing how important getting the shopping cough vaccine to the baby, my first child is 9 years old and I don't remember doing this with her while I was pregantant ( I know a lot has changed in 9 years) but I told her I will reasearch it before getting the shot. Did any of you got the vaccine or declined it? What do you think of vaccinations overall?
