My “friend” thinks I’m being a bitch
I moved to Lexington 10 months ago, I’m fairly new here. Prom is coming up so I hurried up and scheduled a makeup appointment with a girl that my friend recommended. The girl I scheduled an appointment with is 18 years old. Let’s call her D. I wouldn’t usually schedule an appointment with someone so young but my friend said D was amazing so I did. I text D and schedule my appointment. I start showing her my makeup ideas for prom, D tells me she doesn’t have foundation or concealer for my skin tone. I said that’s fine, I have a bunch of foundation and concealer. I show D some more looks and she then decides to tell me AFTER I schedule my appointment with her that she will need me to bring my own brow products, lip gloss, lip stick, eyeliner, bronzer, and lip liner. I text my friend and ask her what type of person she referred me to because it seems like I’m paying someone to use MY makeup. My friend tells me that I should be nice to her because she’s just getting her business started. I tell my friend that D should have told me up front that all she has to offer me is primer and eyeshadow. Is this what regular makeup artists do?
