I used to be close with my mother in law when we lived with her. But now what we have been on our own for two years we have grown apart. To be honest she is very negative and only cares about herself 😬 so since I don’t live there I kind of keep my distance.

I was close with my MIL until the day I actually married her son. (We were together for 6.5 years before marriage.) Since that day it's been nothing but ignorance from her. Once I had my son I grew a stronger back bone and said to hell with her and have said maybe 10 words to her since September. 🤷

I haven’t spoken or seen her in over a year. She lives 5 mins away from our house but we see & talk to my family more regularly and they live over 1.5hrs away.

My mother-in-law is one of the most amazing women I’ve ever met. I’m actually closer to her than my own mother. She’s very supportive, she’s always willing to help us if we need it, and she’s just a really down to earth person. She’s really amazing with our sons. We have dinner with my in laws every Sunday. I’m very blessed to have such a good relationship with both her and my father-in-law.

My MIL and I are very close. She is loving, very supportive, and super unobtrusive. We actually moved to be closer to my In-Laws—I cannot believe we raised our son for two years without their help! Having them close by has been a game changer.
