Valentine’s Day gift??

I’m not technically dating this guy yet and I told him not to get me anything because I’m broke... I show up to his house and he bought me flowers and chocolates. I feel so bad, but don’t have any money... I stopped to get him a card but don’t know what else I can do. I thought about making him something but not sure. What have you all gotten for your boyfriend? Or should I not get him anything since I said that we weren’t doing gifts?
