Itchy down there

I don't know why but during school I was fine and then out of nowhere I got really itchy and I came home to find I had a yeast infection, why is this happening so often?!? My mom said it's a lot of things but she said she noticed how I wiped from my butt to my vagina and she said how it could be that and I caused an infection but idk? Anyone??
