Should my mom be worrying about me having sex at eighteen years old?

I have been together with my boyfriend for over four months. I am 18, he's 19. Last night I slept with my boyfriend and my mom found out. She was not happy at all and called me a slut. i told her we used protection, but she is still not having it. Should she be worrying about my sex life when I am an adult? Why is she trying to make me feel guilty like I did something wrong?

She’s a mom, I’m pretty sure she just wants the best for you (Even though your an adult and can make your own decisions.) But even if she’s being rude right now I’m pretty sure she didn’t mean it when she called you a slut.  Just have a serious talk with her and tell her you’re old enough to make your own choices and be a responsible adult! She can’t hold on to you forever!

I don’t think any mother wants to even think of her kid having sex. But she has to get over it just like my mom did and how I will have to when my little girl decides to do the deed. Sex shouldn’t be punished, especially if you are an adult,  were safe and smart about it :)

As long as you were safe you’ve done nothing wrong. Some parents just don’t like the idea of their children having sex but shes got to understand that you are your own person and you are an adult now. Calling you a slut is uncalled for, would she have reacted the same way if you were a boy? No.
