What are your sleep plans for the first few weeks?

I've been trying to decide if we should invest in a bassinet... the ones I see that come up to the bed and would actually be convenient for BFinf are $200+ and I'm not sure it's worth that for something they grow out of so fast. if we don't get one at our shower, I'm thinking we'll just do a Pack N Play that has a built in bassinet...that way as she grows, it's still useful and we can put her in the lower level. we're also starting out in a 1br apartment so space is a concern. I'm interested to hear everyone else's opinions and plans for sleep with the newborn.

I did a co-sleeper on our bed for two weeks or so and then moved to the crib in her own room. My daughter was a grunter and I got no sleep. It worked well for us and I can hear baby from our room, so I’ll do the same with this one.

We have a very small apartment and I knew that I want to get a bassinet for sure. I got the Fisher Price shooting motion bassinet, it was $120 and the reasoning for this particular one was that it has 20 lb weight limit, so higher than most others that I liked. I also got pack and play because we travel a lot and it's convenient to take it with us.

Originally I wanted to go with a bassinet.. after researching a little more my husband and I decided to go with the Chico lullaby pack and play. The bassinet we wanted was almost $200, the pack and play and just a little more. I feel like we will get much more use out of it in the long run. It has the bassinet insert so baby won’t be too low . Also has storage on the side and other attachments. Also seems much easier to clean vs the bassinets we looked at..

I researched and got a used Halo for $50. I also have a rock and play, and a pack and play. I’m going to see what she likes when she is born. I would ideally like to use the Halo in the the bedroom- or the rock and play, and use the pack and play downstairs.

Bassinet and then crib hopefully 4/5 months! My son I put him in the pack and play in my room before the crib because iwas nervous but turns out he slept 10x better in the crib than in my room

I bought a second hand bassinet to have next to my bed for $50

Probably a dresser drawer… Kind of a tradition in my family. They remove the drawer from the dresser and baby sleeps in there. I don’t really know why but it has always worked for us LOL I do have a bassinet for after the first week or so, we also have a pack and play and I believe I’m going to forgo The crib this time around
