What kind of diaper and why?

Question

I want to cloth diaper so bad but there are so many choices? What are the pros and cons on the differences? What did you like?

I’m going to be trying them for the first time and was told that prefolds/flats with a cover are best for newborns since they grow so fast.
I bought a few of each kind we we can see what we like and go from there!

After almost 5 years and 3 children in cloth diapers...I much prefer prefolds and covers. They are the most bulletproof method and I am a fan of not dealing with leaks/blowouts, plus they are the easiest to wash. Pockets are second because they work for easy quick changes, but are still separate pieces so they wash just as well as prefolds and covers.

I love AIOs for the simplicity but pockets are awesome! you can put in as much or as little absorbancy as you need and the design allows for more stuffing without becoming too bulky or creating leg gaps. to me, the pocket stuffing isn't any more work than having to fold the tongue in an AIO. 
one word of advice though, do NOT get microfiber anything ever! it's the worst of all the diaper materials but because it's cheap, most people wind up getting it first. personally my favorite is cotton/hemp blends!

Depends. I like AIO because I don't have to stuff but drying takes forever for me and more expensive. I like pockets because I like that I can pick where each liner goes but stuffing is time consuming. I like liners because I can reuse if it's only pee. We have some of each. Started with pockets tho.

I love the brand omaiki they have amazing AIO and AI2 diapers they have organic cotton and are super absorbent the one size is great and fits 8-40 pounds the newborn fits 5-16 pounds plus they are very cute and I've never had a blowout with them. very reliable. they have great bundle deals on the website.

My preference are applecheeks which are a all in two. I stuff them with bamboo prefolds (really cheap from rearz) and lots of places applecheeks are on sale right now. This will be my third I've cloth diapered. My second favorite system was flips. I stuffed with the flip inserts, flat diapers and prefolds :)

I have pockets and I have fitted with covers. I like the fitted with covers can be used over night. The pockets can be stuffed extra but I find they don’t last 12 hours which is how long she sleeps for. Pockets I like for how slim they can be plus they are a little quicker to change while out.

My husband and I like the all-in-one diapers because they are the easiest for us. I have pockets and covers with prefolds, too. pockets have be stuffed before use and I was not able to get a good fit with prefolds. I also enjoy the hybrid system with snap in inserts for on the go.

My preference is pockets. Easier to customize absorbency and dry quicker than AIOs but the stuffing can be a pain. We plan to do prefolds and covers during the newborn stage with our next one since they grow out of them so quick. We use OS the rest of the time but they need to be 10ish pounds before OS fit.
