What is considered abuse ???

Everytime my husband and I get into a fight he calls me names gets in my face and acts like I’m the one in the wrong. He has never laid a hand on me but I’m worried because my children see this go on like once a week. So is what he is doing considered verbal abuse and how would I prove it to a lawyer? And next time because I know there will be a next time am I able to leave with the kids and go out of state to my fathers?

I would make an initial appointment with a family lawyer. He or she can tell you what evidence rules are and what you can or cannot prove. I feel like a lot of this depends on what you are trying to accomplish? Divorce, separation, full custody etc?

Maybe try to record it?  My ex boyfriend was the same way and after 7 years it started to get more of a physical abuse. He would punch the wall right by my face, even broke down our bedroom door when I locked myself in to hide from him. Don’t let it go further if you can get out do it. He is probably extremely insecure and that is not your fault.

verbal and mental. he is trying to be dominant over you by being more assertive,  deffensive, and aggresive.  counseling maybe?? as a kid that grew up listening to her parents go at it, screaming and horrible name calling. you grow up being defensive, and altimately resorting to that yourself in your future relationships, and also taking more bull from youe future partners than a normal.person becuase you are just used to it

So it depends on the state. in co. verbal.is equal to physical. However providing it is nearly impossible. They do an appointment home inspecriokn which is 13k alone. Advice, find a good lawyer now for just a free consult and find out about your state. I couldn't win for my son, but some.states are better.

ive been in a relationship simaler to this and yes this is verbal and mental abuse.if you can talk with a therapist and see if they can help get you and the little ones some where safe.
