No midwife yet

It’s my first pregnancy in the UK and I’m just wondering how long do we have to wait for the first booking appointment with the midwife?

I booked an appointment with my GP when I was 6 weeks and she said I should wait for a letter from the midwife. I’m 9+4 now and I still haven’t received any letter. I called up the surgery and the receptionist said there’s nothing they can do as they have already sent the details to the hospital.

So there’s no one whom I can call and ask?

I’m totally lost and just wondering how long do I have to wait for the first appointment?
