Unless it is medically necessary to do a c-section it is safer to deliver your child vaginally.

My first I tried a natural delivery at a birth center. 30 hours later had to go to the hospital for an emergency csection. They said my pelvis was too small and he was facing up and back labor. Baby 2 I had a vaginal birth at a hospital (another 30 hr labor) and tore. I was in Sweden so the hospital was very natural with midwives. Baby 3 I'm planning on having a csection. I recovered much quicker from the csection than from the tear and I mentally can't handle another 30 hr birth. I felt like had PTSD after those first two births. Also when I say 30hr that is 9hrs worth of fully dilated craziness! I used to be one of those people who thought natural was the only way to go, but now I respect whatever birth method a woman chooses. For new mommies reading this, don't freak out. My story is an exception and certainly not the norm thankfully.

Vaginal because it doesn't take as long to recover physically. Meds because it hurts like hell, lol

Whatever the mom does is fine. I personally don't see any reason for a csection unless it's medically necessary. Csection is a major surgery and I feel that it's used too often, with that said I don't judge a woman for opting to have one for convenience, it's just not my cup of tea. As far as meds go, I'm not opposed, I had medicated births with all three children, I tried to go as long as I could with number three, but I was sort of pressured and caved to medicate. The other two I asked for it, I've never seen a woman shame another for their decision to medicate, but it does exist. Each woman should do what she is most comfortable with under the advice of her physician. I think all birth stories are beautiful and precious no matter how they are done.

Had my 1st almost 3 years ago natural no meds. Looking forward to doing it again. Easier recovery and I didn't want any meds in me or the baby.

The recovery for a vaginal delivery is shorter and easier. I haven't had a c section but got my tubal reversed. They cut in the same way they would a c section and well I wouldn't want to go through that again only worse

I've had 3 without meds and felt amazing after. I was totally engaged with baby right away and out of bed quickly. However, I am totally aware that I have relatively quick labors and may not be a great resource for dealing with the pain. Also I totally understand emergency C-section but could never ask for an elective surgery as the thought terrifies me.
