Baby girl is here đź’ś (long read)

So with my 5th and final pregnancy, it was a rough ride. The last couple of weeks I was miserable and my blood pressure was on the rise; while being on meds the whole pregnancy. I had gotten so sick one morning and had taken my blood pressure and it was 172/121 and I called the ob. She told me to come into the office. As soon as the nurse saw me and she took my bp, she went to get the ob nurse and they wheeled me to labor and delivery.

Well, as time wore on, they took blood and urine and my bp came down and sent me home saying my blood work was iffy but the dr was sending me home to do a 24 hr urine. The doctor that was on call, come to find out, has had a malpractice suit against her and delivered a friend of mines baby and the baby developed Erbs palsy bc of trauma during delivery bc of “laboring down.” Needless to say I was relieved she sent me home and wasn’t the one who was going to be delivering my baby.

The next day I had my appt with my normal ob and she said she saw me in the hallway in the office the day prior and knew it was time to get things moving. I was 37+1. She had told me she reviewed my blood work and urine and I had developed Hellp syndrome. My blood counts had dropped severely and I was on the downward. She said with my gestation and symptoms, it is a good idea to get things going while im controlled. I agreed. I cried and thanked her for it. I was so miserable and scared for our baby girl.

We were told to be at the hospital the next night to start the induction. I had cervidil inserted that evening to soften my cervix. I had a leep procedure the month before I got pregnant and had tons of scar tissue. I started to feel contractions around 230 in the morning but my cervix just wouldn’t dilate. So, from then until 9 am I labored just with cervidil. At 9am, the started the pitocin and I was miserable. I dilated to a 4 and was having horrible contractions so they gave me the epidural. I was so numb from this one they had to help me move my legs. I hated it. With my other kids, I was still able to move. Well, bc of the scar tissue of my cervix, they kept having me rotate from one side to the other and, in the process of me rolling, my epidural catheter came out a little and stopped working! They called anesthesia for another one but they took 3 hours. Idk how women labor for so long with pitocin and no epidural. (I did it with my first for 24 hours until I gave in) bless you women who do! Anyway, after I got the epidural again, they upped the pit again And again and soon my daughters vitals dropped. My nurse came flying in and she had the look of terror in her face. The dr came flying in. They told me what was going on and gave me a shot in my arm to stop my labor. The dr broke my water and placed an electrode on baby girls head. Her vitals went back up. Thank God. I labored further and then the electrode came off her head and we were freaking out! finally, I felt the need to push. I told the dr that once it was time there was no time. Baby comes out in 3 pushes max. Well, my wonderful dr was there. One push and baby girls head was out. Then one small push and my dr told me not to push anymore. It’ll help with tearing. Our precious angel was born in 3 minutes. Screaming and healthy! We were so thankful the whole thing was done. With clomid, being high risk, blood counts being severely low, and labor issues, we were thankful our baby girl was here and healthy. Our precious Paisleigh Rayne was born at 3:03 am on Dec 23,2017 weighing 7.10 pounds and 20 inches long. 💜
