Induction Friday?

Hi ladies, 
Tomorrow I will be 40 weeks exactly. I had my dr appt today and baby has not changed at all in the last two weeks and dr doesn’t believe there will be much progression even if I wait another week. So we opted for an induction on Friday. She did say my cervix is unfavorable so my
Chance of c section is higher. I’m feeling very emotional because 1. I’m already on maternity leave so the longer I wait, the less time I have with baby. And 2. I really wanted to go into labor naturally. My thought is if I wait another week and still have to be induced I missed out on more time with baby. What are your thoughts?   What would you do if you were in my shoes? Thanks!

Can u go back to work for a few days/another week instead?   I also really hope to go into labor naturally so my vote would be to wait another week, despite the doctors recommendation based on the cervix.

I was 40+2 and an unfavorable cervix (still not dilated at all, hard). I opted for induction because my dr and myself both agreed that although things can change quickly, it didn’t appear my body was showing signs of change. Again, could change quickly but I opted for the induction on 40+2... my induction progressed until I was at a 5 and from there, we had complications (my body not wanting to progress further combined with baby having heart rate issues on pitocin) so I ended up with a c-section. 
I don’t regret my decision to be induced since the end result was positive (baby is here and healthy, with no further complications) but just wanted to share my induction since I too had an unfavorable cervix.

I personally wouldn’t agree to an induction (if everything looks ok) if my cervical was unfavorable. I’d rather wait another week and have a greater chance of a naturally occurring labor/better induction, but that’s just me.

I’m due tomorrow. At my appointment last week Baby was still super high. I don’t feel like she’s dropped at all since. Will be discussing induction vs c section with dr tomorrow. I’m leaning toward c section since she said I’d have 30% chance of failed induction due to my cervix. And I bruised my tailbone during my first delivery, which made recovery long and painful. I’d rather have long and painful c section recovery this time rather than painful induction and labor followed by painful c section recovery.
