Confused.....

So this my be long & confusing. So I am on birth control. I took all the pills for the month of January, had my normal period. Then after my period week of sugar pills I went to start my new pack. I realized I was out "thought I had more." So I order the pills took a week to arrive. So for a week I was unprotected, had sex with my husband. Once my pills arrive I end up starting the pack. However my period hasn't started for this month was suppose to happen on Sunday I am usually super regular. I took a test Sunday it was negative."don't know if testing would be to soon!" Today while I got in the shower I noticed mucus with a small amount of blood. So I am confused to as if that's my period or not? Thoughts please?
