Is my Mirena working?

I had a Mirena put in on January 30. Two weeks prior, I’d stopped my combination birth control pill midway through the pack. The Mirena was also not put in during my period. I asked my doctor when it would start working and he hummed and hawed and then said “I’d give it a couple of weeks”. I waited three weeks to have sex without a condom. How long has anyone else waited? My doctor just seemed unsure when he told me and some sources online say seven days, while others say a month. What do you guys think?
