Epidural vs no epidural

So my husband and I are first time parents. We recently took birthing classes and we discussed birth with an epidural and birth without one as well as other pain medications such as stadol. There are so many pros and cons to both that I’m over whelmed and don’t know what to do! At this point I’m going to try to make it without the epidural but if I can’t take the pain then I’ll get one. I was just wanting to know what you mamas did! Good and bad stories are welcome. I wasn’t wanting to get the epidural at first because of the chance of it slowing labor down. Stadol crosses your placenta and can only be administered twice before it isn’t effective any more and just coming from not know how I’m going to be feeling I can’t say that I want an all natural birth. Please share!!
