My ex is suing me for financial support. He had got into an accident late last year and totaled my car out. At the time we only had one car to drive which was mine. He took out a loan a couple of days later and told me he’ll buy me a car since he wrecked mine.

The car he bought me is in my name and he took out about $6000 so he can buy himself a car. He claims he can’t pay for it by himself but he gets pay more than $500 every week and he’s living rent free with his parents butI was paying most of the bills when he was staying with me. We had an agreement to go half on the rent and everything but I ended paying for everything.

We were engaged at the time but I broke it off because he hit me and did some other things that I’m too ashamed to talk about. I couldn’t see myself spending the rest of my life with an abusive person.

Today he text me about taking me to court for a “small claims”. I didn’t force him to get a loan he made the decision to do it himself and I don’t know what to do now.
