Anyone Have An Easy Drug Free Labor ? I'd Love To Hear Your Stories

I really want to have a drug free birth because I want to be able to actually have the experience of going through it all because even though its going to be painful I know what I have to look forward to in the end and I just pray nothing bad happens to where I have to get an unwanted alternative and I've also heard scary stories about natural birth but I still want to do it

I did!!  It was super quick and easy (I'd say anyway). I had a horrible horrible birth with an epidural with my first so I was determined to do it naturally with my second and I'm so glad I did. Yes, it hurt. A lot. But it was so worth it. The biggest difference for me was my mental state. Without the epidural I was so much more clear headed and aware of everything going on. I felt like I was in tune with my body. The epidural clouded my whole mind and honestly, I don't even remember much of that birth at all, except for how awful and groggy I felt the whole time. Recovery was much easier after the natural birth too. I was ready to go and energetic within minutes. Recovery from the epidural took days and I felt like I had a massive hangover.

I had a CS with my first and a med free VBAC with any surrogacy. Even though I was in active labor for four days with the VBAC, I would do it over again. The labor and birth is much harder than a CS. But the recovery makes it worth it. I was able to get up and move around immediately after giving birth. Which I couldn’t do after having my CS. It’s a mind over matter situation though. You have to be in the right mindset to make it through labor without any aid. Make sure you have the right support (in my case my nurse was the only one who knew how to talk me through it, everyone else thought I was in terrible pain and tiptoed around me). The pain isn’t as bad as I imagined. I was able to carry on conversations most of the time. I just had to concentrate on something when a contraction hit so I didn’t start pushing. It’s hard to tell your body to not push through a contraction when your cervix isn’t actually ready. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done; working against my own body. But once you start pushing, it’s a huge relief. I was able to push the baby out in three pushes, in less than five minutes. I guess that’s pretty easy? I didn’t scream, I didn’t yell, I didn’t get mean or cry, my husband said I didn’t even get red in the face. I’d like to believe it’s because I prepared myself the entire pregnancy for that birth. So I’d suggested reading articles and blog posts about med free births. Look up techniques on how to get through it. Prepare yourself now so you know what you’re getting into and you won’t be freaking out when you’re actually in labor. 
Also, if you get half way through labor and decide that you just can’t do it and you want a moment to relax, it is OKAY to get an epidural or some sort of pain relief. I know so many women who swear by epidurals. It’s not a competition so don’t feel bad if you can’t do it any longer. Giving birth is hardwork!

I would never call drug free labor easy. 
I had a pain med free vaginal birth with my first born. It was by far my best birthing experience and best recovery. I would have loved to repeat that with my other two kids but my second’s heart stopped and we had to pull him out. I had hoped for a vbac with my third, but he was breeched when my water broke.

Hi! I had my son on 10/07/2015 and I had a natural birth, no complications & it didn't put me off.. second baby due 24/09/2018! ☺️ the day before my son was here my midwife at my 38w appt told me that he wasn't ready, he wasn't gonna come without me being induced, that I was going to go overdue, and all this other stuff.. which angered the hell out me! At 38w I was DONE with being pregnant?! 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 So I went for a long, strong, powerwalk from my doctors office, to running errands and then to home! When I got home I fell asleep for about an hour and woke up to go toilet, I sat down & I felt liquid escape me but I was sat there like "I'm sure I haven't peed yet!" 🤔😂 and I was right! from there my waters started trickling & 24 hours later, including about 2 hours of strong contractions & 5minutes of actual pushing and my little man made his appearance! At 38w+2d, Done totally natural with no pain meds at all, and I'm so so so happy I did it that way! Now this time I'm planning a home birth which my midwife is stupidly excited about and I will be hopefully doing it exactly the same as I did last time! 🤞🏻💕💙✨

My drug free labors would be considered easy...because they were so quick.  2.5 and just under two hours respectively from first contraction to holding the baby.
I do usually say I cheated and pretty much anybody could do drug free with such short labor and deliveries....partially because unless you get to the hospital quick, you miss the drug window.
That being said, those were two of the most intense hours of my life.  I’m glad I got to experience it though.

My first I took Stadol (stay away, stay far away!), and had some bad reactions. My second, my husband was more convinced that I could and should go without. He was a great support, and while no pain is easy, it was momentary by comparison. I had no trouble healing at all with my second, while my first took me a day or two to get my land legs back!

I had a relatively "easy" drug free birth. I am extremely lucky to have my daughter (my first) within 2 hours of being admitted, labor was 5 hours total. I honestly didn't even have time to think about what was happening.

mine was easy. I dilated to five pretty comfortably and gradually at home and had my son within 3 hours of being admitted. I didn't feel like it was the horrible kind of pain like a broken limb, more like the intense muscle work like a long ski or hike. I'm definitely doing it again with my second

Yeah I mean I wouldn’t say it was easy, but in comparison to how other births go, I’d say mine seems fairly easy. I wasn’t in bad pain until I was at 6 cm. Which wasn’t until almost 5 hours of being in the hospital. Then it kind of kicked in and I was definitely in pain. I labored in the birthing pool. Until my back pain got too bad. I had to lay down in the bed. It’s the only thing that helped me feel better. I was at 9 cm then and shortly after it was time to push. Pushing felt really good! It relieved a lot of the pain actually and I wanted to push. An hour later she was born. That hour went pretty quick.
