Domestic Violence and Shootings
I know, I know, another post about mass shootings. Y'all must be tired of these topics by now.
But lately, many of those topics revolve around mental health, whether those who have mental illness should have access to guns, etc.
I haven't seen anything about the connection between domestic violence and mass shootings. MANY of those who commit these acts of violence have a history of domestic violence. Many even have a history of animal abuse. Many of them are still able to not only get access to guns, but roam around free as if nothing is wrong.
Edit: Again. this is about the fact that many perpetrators of DV and animal abuse walk away without punishment and repercussions. As a victim of such atrocities (along with friends and family), often times, our abusers are never convicted. They are free to legally purchase guns if they wish.
so my questions are: why are we talking about mental illness instead of domestic violence? Can we stop potential mass shootings by properly punishing perpetrators of domestic and animal abuse?
