If your child joined a hate group, what would you do?

There was a story in the Washington Post today about a mother whose (adult) son was radicalized online and is now a neo-nazi, as well as similar stories from other families. The main theme was one of helplessness and confusion: here is a child that you love, but they're now part of something evil and hateful and you don't understand how that happened, or what to do with it. The main dilemma seems to be between cutting them out - or in one case, kicking him out- (and thus maybe driving them further into the arms of their hate groups) or keeping contact (but potentially enabling them further or sending the message it's fine.)

What would you do if your child started spouting evil beliefs, and they refused to see reason?
