I announced at 9 weeks to close family members, my reasoning was that if I did miscarry I would have more people for support vs just hubby to depend on. You should announce when your ready, not when someone else(who isn’t your doctor) says you can. This is just the first thing you’ll have to deal with from other people. Most aren’t coming from ill intentions, but if you don’t put your foot down soon they will walk all over you. Telling you what you can and can’t do/eat. How to parent, what name to go with instead of the one you like, how to do your nursery, etc. you need to put your foot down now and start making these decisions when YOUR ready and for what YOU want, don’t let someone else dictate yours and your babies life. Congrats on the baby!!!

I don't want to be THAT person, but I'm gonna anyway. you and your LO are not out of the woods until you safely deliver. we waited until 20 weeks with our 1st just so we could announce with the gender. 6 weeks later, we lost him. we we're devastated but had people to fall back on since they knew. I'm now 17 weeks and only one of my friends knows and people at my SO's work in case he needs to leave for any reason. not sure when or if we will announce with this one. just know it's up to you. it's not jinxing it. like someone else said, they can be a really good support system if needed.

I told everyone at 8 weeks. I’d recommend waiting until you see the heartbeat and have your ultrasound. I told early because I felt comfortable with it. I’m a labor and delivery nurse and see bad things happen at every stage of pregnancy. You do what feels right for you.

If you are going to MC it won't be because you announced it to the world. personally (having had 3 MC) I would suggest you tell your nearest and dearest (close friends and family) to which you can talk about your pregnancy with to your heart's content but wait on a big announcement to everyone else. If there are complications with your pregnancy you've then told those closest and they can support you but you don't have to deal with your whole world knowing. If everything goes swimmingly and you have an easy pregnancy then announce to the world after the 12 week mark.

My first pregnancy announced at 7 weeks on Facebook  and baby was healthy. 
My second pregnancy miscarried at 6 weeks. Only told close family and friends. 
If we get pregnant with our rainbow won't tell anyone until 20 weeks probably.

I only told my parents (and husband) around 5 weeks. I was scared to announce it and something bad Happening.. but I told everyone at 9+1 week after my ultrasound and the OB said it looked like a very healthy baby so that’s when I did announce. It’s up to you but I would say wait till your first ultrasound

On my first (born: 10/07/2015) we found out at 5w and we waited till I was 12w pregnant & had my first scan.. a main reason we waited is we announced it on Christmas Day to our families! So it was like an amazing gift/surprise for everyone! .. now I'm pregnant with my second (due: 24/09/2018), again we found out at 5w and we told our families almost straight away! I don't know why but because our son was so excited about it, all of us are over the moon and we just couldn't contain it! But we won't announce it to friends & stuff until I've had my 12w scan :) Some days I feel like I wish we had waited to tell everyone because it was so lovely doing a special announcement but definitely do what you want to do, it's 100% up to you! ✨

I recommend announcing at or after 12 weeks, that’s when the chance of miscarriage drops to below 1%
