Update: Amazing guy, bad timing. Advice?

So a few weeks ago I posted something about an amazing guy that I met, but we didn't get into a relationship because the timing wasn't right. I just want to update you all on what happened recently and I need advice on things.

I never really expressed to him how I actually felt about the whole situation and it bothered me ever since, so I asked to meet up with him and he agreed.

The whole meeting was bittersweet. I told him I wasn't lying when I told him I liked him and I honestly thought we'd end up together. He also told me he felt the same and he thought we'd end up together too. But because we both have so much going on in our lives, we just can't.

Before we said goodbye for the last time, we hugged and I told him it was nice talking to him again. I walked away and I never looked back.

I don't know... I'm glad I got to say a proper goodbye to him and I was able to express what I wanted to say, but I'm still sad about it and I still have hope we'd end up together. Any advice on how to deal with the sadness, how to suppress that small hope, and how to move on from all of this?
