Baby’s name and nickname

Okay so we decided on naming our daughter Evelyn and nickname her Evee for short.

Now my mom is one of those people who believes in psychics and whatnot and she told me the psychic told her my daughter was talking to her and told her she wants to be called Evee. So now my mom constantly corrects me when I talk about my daughter. I call her Evelyn and my mom is like “You mean Evee.”

It’s so annoying. I rarely even refer to her as Evee. Her name is Evelyn. On her birth certificate, it will say Evelyn. Not Evee. If I don’t call her Evee, it’s not the end of the world.

I get that my mom is excited. And she’s been so supportive. But it’s annoying. Don’t tell me what my child prefers to be called just because a psychic told you that 🤦🏻‍♀️
