I prefer hand made gifts because they are soooooo much more meaningful

Totally depends on what it is. If I can use it then of course I’d use it. If it’s meant to be a decoration I’ll at least or it out for a while depending on what it is and how it goes with the house. If it’s something I can’t use or just isn’t something I like it’ll collect dust somewhere in storage. I don’t look down on homemade gifts, I’d say the same about purchased gifts. Totally depends on the gift.

Depends what it is. My mom has knit me a blanket that I frequently use. My old boss knit me a neckwarmer I love. My kids use hand knit hat's and mitts on and off through winter. Thing a like that are useful to me and I use them i knit my own mitts and hat's too. Thing a such as knick knacks and what have you, no.

My mom knots wash clothes! I absolutely love them and so I will use them. My grandma stitched a design on kitchen towels for my bridal shower, I have kept them in a box (in to nervous to ruin them!)
