Do babies give “hunger cues” while sleeping and not crying?

Trying to figure out if I need to wake baby to feed.

as long as they passed their birth weight you don’t have to wake them to feed

I woke my baby up the first 3 weeks until he gained his birth weight. or else I swear he would have slept all day lol.

I woke my baby so that she was on a schedule. It worked really well for us. She was sleeping through the night by 6 weeks and has been a great sleeper ever since (almost 2 now).

If baby is giving hunger cues while sleeping I try to pop my breast in their mouth without waking them. If it doesn't work I wake them up to nurse and usually they eat and just go back to sleep.
