Any IUD side effects?

Did anyone experience any major side effects when getting an IUD? Also, do you get your period while you are on it or does it completely disappear?

I loved mine. Until it flipped causing me to get pregnant and miscarry. Never again.

I’ve had mine since my youngest was 4 months old. I got my first period back at 7 months PP, and aside from heavy cramping during my period, I almost forget I have it. When it was first placed, there was a lot of cramping and bleeding, but that disappeared after a week. Other than the cramps, I haven’t had any other symptoms but I’m on the Paraguard (the copper one without hormones)
