¿How long it took for you go in labor?

34+6 went to appointment yesterday, dr says Im 1cm dilated. ¿How long it took for you go in labor?

If you have had previous babies its normal to be dilated 1-2cm for most of your pregnancy apparently!

I would avoid checking it doesn’t tell you anything. Some women are dilated for weeks and some aren’t dilated at all when it happens and vise versa. Checking is irrelevant until I’m active labor. That being said (I didn’t know what I do now) I was checked with my first and I wasn’t even a fingertip dilated when my water broke at 39+6. My second I have no idea what I was at when my water broke at 40 weeks.

I’ve never been checked with either o my pregnancies but I went into labor at 41 weeks exactly. Dilation doesn’t tell you anything about labor.

With my first, I wasn’t even 1cm when my water broke. This time, I’ve been 3cm for 3 weeks (went into preterm labor twice). Still holding strong there at 34w2d!

I was 2cm for weeks with my first and then now I have had contractions for a week... 34.4 weeks 😩 it just depends on your body my darling !

I was 3cm until the day I got induced. Yup, read that right, I had to be induced. 😂 dilation doesn’t equal labor unfortunately :(

And I was 1cm last time and then had baby girl 48 hours later...so unfortunately you never know!
