White area under baby’s neck..?

It’s fluid behind the baby’s neck, every baby has it in the early stages of pregnancy. Where I’m from they offer a state screening ultrasound and blood work to measure the amount of fluid behind the baby’s neck to check for genetic disorders (it’s called a nuchal translucency scan) But fluid behind the baby’s neck is normal, unless otherwise stated by your doctor.

In case anyone comes back to this post in future, the blood results came back as low risk for genetic anomalies. I have the NT next week but feeling very positive!

I know the doctor looks at how thick it it to determine if you need blood work done for downs syndrome. They check that at 12 weeks

It’s fluid, and I don’t have any medical training but if it makes you feel any better it looks like  exactly the same amount both my sons had.
