Induction?

My doctor said at my 37 week appt yesterday that she likes to deliver between 39-40 weeks so baby doesn't get bigger and harder to deliver.  So she wants us to pick a date for me to be induced, assuming baby doesn't come on his own.
I've had a really easy pregnancy with no issues except anemia, also a FTM.  Would it be a good idea to be induced?  I'm already worried about a c-section because I'm so small (5'3", 105lbs pre-pregnancy).  Plus I want to go as med-free as possible and I know inductions can cause labor to be more painful.  
But I honesty don't know anything as this is my first pregnancy so would it be a good idea?

My opinion: God made our bodies able to handle this. There is a reason why the baby needs to stay as long as it needs to stay in the womb on its own. Let the baby come when it’s ready. Induction should only be an option when it’s medically necessary. You have the ultimate decision!

If there's a medical reason, I'd do it. 
My first 2 births were inductions (medically necessary). My 3rd I really wanted a natural experience and ended up going overdue and getting preeclampsia. 
If you're small framed and your dr thinks you're at risk for c section if baby gets too big, I'd definitely opt for the induction. My sister's friend wad petite with a large baby and they had to break the baby's collar bone to get him out.

Labor is going to be painful no matter what. Your doc knows what she’s doing but its ultimately up to you. I’m a labor and delivery nurse and agree with you doc. I see a lot of c sections after 40’weeks because they baby gets too big, but I’ve also seen successful deliveries too. It’s really whatever you and your doc decide is best
