Missed miscarriage - what would you choose?

We have a final appointment tomorrow to confirm a missed miscarrige and we previously discussed possible 'next steps'. For those of you who have been through this, if you had a choice, would you wait for your body to naturally miscarry, take a pill to induce miscarriage, or schedule a D and C?

I've had the choice twice and chosen D&C both times, and don't regret it at all. It was all done and over with while I was completely asleep and then we were able to move on. I personally couldn't handle the thought of waiting to see if/when it would happen on its own.

You also don't want to risk infection if your body does not process it fast enough.

Thank you so much everyone for sharing and my sympathy that so many of you had to go through this too. I opted for an in office D and C and they did it right away. While painful, I am glad the wait is over. Love to all.

I did the d&c; on my doc's recommendation.  Though it wasn't a "positive" experience, I think it was the best of 3 bad options.  If given a choice, I'd choose it again.

I had two scans that I saw, and they did a scan before the D&Cjust; to be sure. Emotions will be there either way but knowing I'm not waiting for it to pass on it's own helped the healing process begin. Also, the staff was so supportive.

A few years ago I was in the same situation I choose the pill they actually inverted it in my cervix within an hour i passed everything

I did the pill.. It was painful... if I had to do it over again I would have done things different... It took 3 days for me to pass everything too long and painful..

I would do the d&c; I choose to wait and ended up having to have 2 units of blood pumped into me cause my cervix didn't close so I was pretty much just bleeding to death  not meaning to scare u but that was my experience of waiting. if it ever happens again I will definitely go with a d&c;

I have had two missed miscarriages (out of four). I decided to wait and let my body do its thing. The first one took five weeks before I decided I was going to take the pill. I lost it at 9 weeks but didn’t miscarry until 14 weeks with the pill. We made sure with an ultra sound that there really was no heart beat. It was fairly fast and not horribly painful. The second I took it as soon as I found out I had lost it. I didn’t want to walk around knowing my baby was no longer alive. The five weeks with the first was torture. I lost that one at 11 weeks. The pain was horrible. It took nearly seven hours to pass and all I could do was scream into my pillow from the pain. I will never do the pill again.

With my miscarriage in 2010 I did the pill and it was awful I passed so much blood that I passed out and my mom had to call the squad. She canceled the squad as I woke up but still had to go to the hospital ( she drove an hr) as I was still bleeding heavy and they did a US to make sure everything was gone. I would do a DC due to they can put you to sleep to do it you may have some cramping after .
