Bachelorette Party and pregnant
Ok...so I'm in a wedding this summer. I'm going to be 7 months and some change for that. Got the bridesmaids dress and all that.
My question, and I'm at a loss at how to not come off like a jerk, is how do I decline attending the bachelorette night?
It's in May, so I'll be 5 months along or so. The idea so far is limo, hotel, bar/clubbing, winery and a fancy dinner. It comes to about $200/person, a bit less for me since I'm not drinking obviously, but not by much.
Now I do not work in a high paying field. I'm a journalist at a small local company. But I love what I do so the money isn't most important. But at that cost, even without alcohol, I just can't do it and feel comfortable saving for my baby still. I'm not spending frivolous money right now.
I'm just at a loss. This bride is a good friend and I don't know how to nicely say no, because I'm pretty mad they're assuming that I want to sit pregnant in a club not enjoying it.
Also...I'm not a drinker/clubber/dancer anyway, but until I got pregnant was willing to do whatever she wanted to have fun. Now, I'm just not sure since I'll be getting rude looks if I do go in. I'm never one to put me first, but this time I feel like I need to.
