How was it in the beginning, like the signs?

Is this serious or a common thing?

Yesterday before be out of nowhere my mouth became difficult to open. I was able to still fit two knuckles in but no more. Then I tried to open again and I heard a pop, like knuckles popping but in my jaw, I kept opening my mouth( not wide) but just a little and it kept popping maybe five more time and then stopped. This is weird, I’ve never experienced this before.
