Have you ever given up sex (on purpose)

So without getting too “Churchy”, my SO and I have decided to give up sex (oral and penetration) for 40 days (lent)... And man are we having a hard time, lol. We’ve had two close encounters where the tip was so close to going in 🤦🏾‍♀️. Then Bc we were both so wound right we accidentally performed oral on each other 😏. My question is, has anyone ever attempted this, to purposely try not to have sex w your SO. If so, how did you succeed? I try to distract my mind but when I’m in his presence 😈👅💦🍆💥. Any suggestions would be helpful.
