Genetic counseling?

Question

Anyone ever done this?? They want to send me to a bigger hospital for genetic counseling because my SO was born with tuberous sclerosis. The disorder is uncommon so my Dr doesn't have much information but it can cause brain tumors kidney tumors seizures etc etc.... Just wondering if anyone knows what genetic counseling entails??

I don't have a ton of experience, only with the son I lost we had genetic counseling. My understanding is that they can explain to you how this would be passed down, if there's any risk to your baby to get it, if you need any further testing, how to prepare and what to expect when baby is born and is growing kinda thing. Hope it all works out good!! Will definitely be praying for you and a healthy baby!! Have you had any recent ultrasounds?
