How would you night wean your 20 month old? I can move him into his own room w dad or he can stay in my room w dad and I’ll leave. We plan on switching him to his own room anyway but I’m afraid it’ll be too much at once

Sorry people aren’t answering your actual question. Goodness. I don’t really have advice about the weaning but I think I would just do it all at once to get it over with. But I’m no expert haha.

I'd put him in his own room and just get him used to that. It may be harder to take smaller steps because it's just more adjustments for him. Good luck to you, it's not an easy thing. My first son was much harder to get in his own room. He was almost 2 before he'd go to sleep by himself in his room. But by the time my second was 6 months old he was in his own bed, in his own room and has never had issues. He's now 15 months ☺️

Definitely he needs to be in his room. By at least 12 months your child needs to be in his or her own room.

So is he sleeping with you guys right now? I’m wondering cause our son sleeps with us, but I knew he needed to sleep in his own bed, so we’d let him fall asleep in our bed and then I’d transfer him into his bed. At first he’d wake up and want to get back in our bed, but after a few tries he understood that that was his bed and he would lay back down. He sleeps on his own now, in his bed, but in our room. At night if he wakes up, I’m right there to soothe him and get him back to sleep.

I would move him into his own room I think doing it all at once will be easier! If you ween him then change rooms you might end up having to ween him again. If you can put at least a twin bed in his room so if you need to be in his room with him you can. Someone told me that at 24 months there kids stopped waking up at night and I found that to be true with my two also. Hopefully that gives your some comfort 😉 good luck!
