Best litter that keeps smell away?

I have two boy cats and they both share the same litterbox if it is not changed twice a day it is unbearable. I have an air purifier in the room with it air fresheners and it gets cleaned each night but it is still so unbearable and reeks of urine (they aren’t spraying it is the cat box) they may have to leave before baby gets here if I don’t find a solution

make sure both of them are fixed and get a second litter box. the best litter ive found is arm and hammer double duty. its made for multiple cats and the baking soda helps the smell

We have two boys that share as well, and we use Scoop Away. We're in a small place so their litter it's out in the open and we don't have any smell issues.
We get it at Costco, but most places have it.

Fresh step with febreeze, extreme or multi cat. Mix in a few cups of fresh step crystals (I find them to be too pricey to fill all my litter boxes with). Continue to scoop daily and get a glade plug in.

Agree with 2 litter pans, I have 2 female cats. I use tidy lightweight I love it it’s got the smelly like febreeze in it that helps the smell so nicely and put the litter boxes a distance away from each other then clean once a day or once every 2 days. And I have the automatic air sprayers right above both of them in different rooms that helps a tad also

I suggest using a litter that clumps. I've always used Tidy Cat litter, the kind that clumps and forms a ball when a cat urinates in it. (It's magical!) lol! Also, I love the litter boxes that are basically self cleaning, (not really self cleaning,) but you basically sift the whole thing with one move and then you put it back on so that you get all the feces and urine out. I like having a hood too, as it also helps keep the odors contained. Also to help with odors, I use a Arm and Hammer carpet powder, Island Breeze and I'll just a sprinkle a bit on top of the litter and shake the box a little to mix it in and I'm done. You can also use a bit of baking soda too.

Are they neutered? It might help the smell. My local cat shelter said you always should have the same amount of litter boxes as cats, so two cats = two litter boxes. 
As far as litter types I have no idea 🙄
