Sick, again

I caught another cold somehow... mind you this is the second one in literally less than two months. This one is way worse in the way of chest congestion and coughing. I keep reading conflicting things about OTC medicines to treat this. Anyone have first hand experience taking anything for colds that was effective and safe? I’ve been downing orange juice and sleeping by my humidifier but last night was insane and I totally kept my husband up coughing like crazy, I feel really bad. I’m also hoping the baby isn’t being affected by my insane coughing fits.
