Delivery!?!?

Question

Delivery method? Baby is looking on the chunky side, potentially, with no dilation at this point and the risk of emergency c-section. Dr. says we can choose to wait until dilation and labor (with high chance of emergency c-section) or choose elective c-section. What are the pros and cons of both? This makes me nervous regardless of the option I choose but would love some insight on

why do doctors and women refuse to trust the human body? so what if baby is chunky, why wouldn't a vaginal delivery be possible? that's absurd

So there guesses on baby’s weight are not reliable. They told me my daughter was measuring almost a month behind, she was born 8lbs 13oz. They told my friend her baby was measuring large so they induced her and her son was born 7lbs 8oz. You really just don’t know until baby comes. But my nurse told me that their weight estimations can be off by more than a pound either way.

I've delivered both ways, emergency c-section first and then a vbac. If I were you I'd at least try a vaginal birth, I found mine easier in every way. A lot of doctors won't give you a chance at a vaginal ever again if you've had a c-section. So think about future pregnancies too.

C section recovery is usually rough and has higher risks, also may not be able to hold/ be with baby for a time after delivery. No stairs, tub baths, driving, lifting anything other than baby, etc. I have adhesions that are uncomfortable sometimes. The books Birthing from Within and Birth Matters by Ina May helped me believe in my body again after I thought it failed- resulting in my c section. I would always try for vaginal birth and be prepared for a c section if given the option.

I would go with elective c-section that way you have time to mentally prepare for whats going to happen!
