It’s always something!  Just when my IVF appointment is days away (which I now have to reschedule 😒). I’ve been in pain with a rash on my leg for 3 days. I just got back from the doctor and I HAVE SHINGLES!! Are you kidding me? The worst timing ever! I have to take antiviral medicine for 10 days and steroids for 5 days.  I know the appointment is a consultation, but do they do any blood work or ultrasounds during this appointment? I don’t want to start medicine while this is going on. The office is closed now. I’ll call and ask tomorrow. This sucks😪

No they don’t generally do any bloodwork or tests then. They might want to do another day 3 bloodwork round if you haven’t had those updated within a year so you might have to wait but generally not. When is your period due or did it just start? I can tell you more about the potential timeline from that.

usually the first appointment is to meet you and know your medical history, and then program everything, generally the doctor is the one who causes the cycle, so they can adjust it according to your medications now. Don't worry about it. One day at a time
