Were you in active labor without painful contractions?

Question

Mostly everyone says contractions have to be consistant, long, and painful. But I have read a few stories of women actually being in active labor and not knowing because the contractions were not painful. How did you know it was time to go in?

Mine were painful but that’s due to being induced.

Up until I was dilated to about a 5 they didn't hurt. After that it hurt like hell!!

I had my water break on its own and then contractions kicked in pretty much immediately so I knew. But that being said I didn't think contractions were that bad but my baby was spine to spine so the back labor is what sucked. Without that I didn't think labor was terrible. Pushing was exhausting but I pushed for 5 hours 🤦🏼‍♀️

My contractions before I got active labour weren't painful at all I couldn't feel them... they were being registered tho on their machine tho.  my water broke at 4:30am.. pack my hospital bag and installed carseat... also mopped my floors, did dishes and other things and took a quick shower.. waiting for contractions to start... went to the hospital a bit after 8.am  got hooked up before being admitted.. at 9am I was admitted and they started oxytocin.. machine said I was having contractions even 3 minutes or so. and I still didn't feel them.... at 3pm I hit active labour (4cm dialated) and them I started to feel them but only in my upper thighs... nothing in my back or abdomen just my thighs felt like they were getting pulled or burning sensation.. I was in active labour for 6 hours... he was born at  9:32pm... no epidural. pushing was the greatest pain relief... when I started to push the pain went away. I did manage to sleep during most of active labour.. I did wake during contractions and then went back to snoring lol.

Yes and no. With my first I was in sooo much pain. But with my second I had those period type cramps and when they hooked me up I was having contractions. They didn’t hurt but were progressing me. 
So I’m in a weird situation. I’m 38 wks with no3 and I’ve been having period cramps along with lots of Braxton Hicks. And I have no idea what to do 😭

Mine were not painful until my doctor broke my water.

I didn't have pain at all with my first child. Had a regular checkup and was dialated at a 7! I had my daughter couple hours later.

I was in preterm labor at 4cm contraction every 3 mins and had no idea , nurses were  in shock when I said I didnt feel a damn thing lol

Mine were nagging period type contractions that did not alleviate after 12 hours and so I called the dr and they said to go ahead to hospital.
