Do/did your parents let you travel while you were living under their roof?

I have ethnic parents, no traveling while you’re living at home, no moving out till marriage... so here I am. Fucking paradox.

Absolutely not, I grew up very sheltered and my parents always made it seem like someone was out there to get me. Ever since I moved out when I was 16 and still to this day, the constant “someone is trying to get you” makes me paranoid about things at times. 😕

I was able to travel to a foreign country but I was with grandparents. Aside from that no, I don’t really get to travel to places that aren’t close to home with friends. However, I would try to talk to them and I get it, it’s hard...I also have foreign parents. It’s not always easy to sit them down and to talk but in the end it is your life and you do have to take control of it and they do need to understand that. They may get heartbroken but they’ll eventually come around.
