Should nfl players be reprimanded for these unnecessary questions?

Sorry for all the “Instagram news” but this one really boiled my blood. 
For one, what does his sexuality have to do with his ability to play? Why is that anyone’s concern? Also, why would they ask about his mother? Is sex work not work? Reporters and these players are getting extremely out of hand with the questions. It seems extremely phobic and sexist

They do it to see how they will handle being questioned by the media. Reporters will throw the random questions at them and how they react will be all over the news. So they are doing it to test their ability to handle the exposure that comes with being a professional football player.

They didn't  care for the answer, they wanted to see  how he reacted. Reporters are 1000x worse.  So they wanted  to know  if hes capable of withstanding a news interview.  He was warned, to be ready for anything.

I agree with the player, it sounds like they are trying to get him to react. It's a different world that I really do not understand. It's definitely crazy, I agree with him there. I don't know if we'll ever know if the questions were just abuse of power jokes or an immature "stress test" type question.

They don’t actually care what the answer is. They weren’t asking to actually know if he’s gay or not. They ask fucked up questions to test him because reporters are ruthless and WILL ask random off the wall offensive shit like this.

It wasn’t players that asked him these questions, so no. NFL staff members asked him. They should be penalized. 
There’s no need to ask these questions. It’s actually illegal in the US for an employer or prospective employer to ask about your sexuality, and the NFL is not exempt from this.

They genuinely don’t care what his answer is. The purpose of this is to gauge his reaction, because they need to know how he’ll handle himself with reporters who truly do want to know and expose these things. I think it’s fine.
