So yesterday I told my principal (i’m a first year teacher) that I am 11 weeks+ 3 days pregnant. He congratulated me but sounded reluctant to guarantee my position next year. He was honestly shocked. He asked my plans and I said I want to start next year off, have baby in October, then come right back in November. All he said was “I will take that into consideration.” It made me so nervous and I just balled in his office! Of course I blamed the hormones but I’m so nervous. He said he is impressed with me this year, and I’m currently rated as highly effective. Could I not come back because I’m pregnant? Thoughts??? I’m so paranoid!
