Doppler... Yes or no?

Question

I am hearing many things about the heart Doppler. Do you think it is a good idea to have one? I am worried it will be more stressful than helpful if I can't find the baby's heartbeat. What is your opinion?  Thanks ladies.

My cousin, a NICU nurse, told me not to. She said it can cause me more stress. She said to just trust my body and it will show me signs of there is an issue. Going weeks between appts and not hearing our little star is hard but I trust my cousin and all the doctors she works with who she confirmed with before telling me.

I refuse to get one, even though I want to. It would be nice for reassurance in these weeks before I can feel baby moving regularly. But even my doctor has a hard time locating my little one sometimes because he/she is so active. I would have panic attacks if I couldn't find the heartbeat, so I know it's best to just leave it and trust all is going well between appointments. :)

I got mine early and used it every day from 9 weeks till around 17 weeks. I loved it and would do it again in a heart beat. Now I just focus on her kicks and movements.

I have one and use it sometimes but usually only if baby hasn't been moving as much. It can be stressful when you can't find the heartbeat and some people pick up their heart beat and think it's the baby's. But it is nice to have for my husband and daughter to hear baby and to make sure he/she is ok.

My BF got me one for Mother's Day & we use it every 3 ish days. It's soooo reassuring for me bc I'm such a paranoid person, and my BF has been able to find the heartbeat right away each time since about 18 weeks!

I got one with my first Bc I didn't have an appointment between 7 and 13 weeks and I was terrified something would happen Bc I had zero symptoms.  I loved having it, but unless you know how to use it and where to find the baby it can scare the crap out of you.  You might also hear the fluid sounds and think it's the heartbeat, Bc it sounds very similar. So if you decide to get one, don't panic if you can't find the heartbeat. Other than that I love having one but only use it once or twice a week, max, and stopped as soon as I could feel baby moving.

I have one and I use it every two weeks or so. Sometimes it takes ten or fifteen minutes to find the HB but other times I find immediately. I find it very reassuring and if it's hard to find, I just try to remember that my doctor couldn't find it either and to try again later.

I got my sonoline B yesterday and I love it. It can be difficult to find the heartbeat, but that doesn't mean something is wrong! I'm having twins and I had a hard time yesterday, but I finally found them both. They move so much!! Good luck with your decision!!

If you get a nice one and only do it maybe after 20 weeks. That's what I did I never had problems finding the heart beat. This oregnancy I am way less worried with it because I can just go check. And he kicks the Doppler which is hilarious.
