I actually just came back from my newborn care class and the instructors said no sunscreen until after 6 months

Depends on the sunscreen, more natural ones maybe, but best to cover with shade. Also don't go crazy on the SPF, the difference between spf 30 and spf 60 is less than 1% coverage but spf 60 has a lot more chemicals in it.
