The term "queer people" and "trans people" seems hella rude to me idk why it doesn't sit well with me

Many people in those communities choose to be referred to in that way! 
"trans people" is in no way offensive. It's never been a slur. It's just a short version of "transgender people," the proper way to refer to anyone trans 
"Queer people" is a bit more dicey. It's a reclaimed slur. It's best to hear someone refer to themselves as"queer" before using it to refer to them, or just avoid it altogether if you're not LGBT

I think it only bothered me when straight people do it, especially with queer. Queer used to be a slang/offensive term for lgbt people. However lgbt people today have reclaimed it and use queer as an umbrella term for lgbtaq+. For that reason I feel it’s fine when people within the community use it but I don’t feel it’s okay when straight people do since not everyone in the community uses or accepts queer. Said with the wrong tone it could also be misinterpreted for slang which it used to be. So when a straight person uses queer to refer to someone who is gay or the gay people in general it can feel offensive as straight people use to use the term as offensive slang towards lgbt people. Kinda similar to how people of color can use nigger to refer to each other but if a white person dose it is offensive or not okay to do.

Eh, I love using the term “queer” it’s all encompassing to me. I’d rather use it than explain my all my preferences every time

that's normal, because people have used the word queer as a slur. personally, I've come to love it and I think it's a really cute label for myself❤️ I understand you though, like I think the word lesbian sounds kinda odd! it's just the stigma society puts on words
