Any birth control pill, ring, or patch will lighten and shorten your period. With the implant or shot, some people stop having periods completely.

When I used nuvaring my period would come on Thursday be pretty light Thursday and Friday. I would have a heavy day on Saturday and Sunday it would be almost gone. Sometime I would spot a little on Monday.
