Anyone on here a sonographer/ultrasound tech?

I’m curious if anyone on here is an ultrasound tech? I’m considering going back to school and wondering if those of you who may be one recommend it as a career choice? Any details you’d like to share? I’m curious about the job market and the flexibility and what not. Thanks so much in advance!

I’m a sonographer in Pennsylvania. Ultrasound is a very difficult yet rewarding career. Ultrasound is very operator dependent so you have to be very well trained and competent. It’s not all babies and happy like everyone thinks. You are performing the scans because people are having symptoms or troubles. It is physically demanding and long hours depending where you work. I’m at a hospital so I work weekends, call and holidays. That’s pretty normal for hospitals. Everyone really simplifies the profession but it is a highly specialized field. The job field is saturated but bigger cities have more to offer. May need to be willing to move. Physics are a big part of ultrasound as well. I love my job but it definitely takes hard work everyday and years to feel comfortable with scanning. Good luck!
