How long are you ladies planning to be on maternity leave with baby?

Then what is your plan once it’s time to go back? I really wish i could spend the first year at home with the baby but I want to try to figure out how to balance this with career aspirations. What are you ladies doing?

I'm a nanny and my last day is July 27th. I'll be unemployed. My hubby and I will sadly always be a 2 person income family so taking 6-8 weeks and then it's back to job interviewing and finding something.

My job has 6 weeks maternity leave, I would only get 60% of my pay. I can save up pto time to go towards it also. I would actually like to be home for 10 weeks at least before I go back to work. It’s something my husband and I still have to look into and discuss to make sure we can do it. My husband works nights also at a family restaurant so our schedules work out as far as who would be taking care of the baby.

I'll be able to stay out of work for about 6 months. one month will be unpaid the rest fully paid. after that baby boy is going to daycare.

I work as part times server so I dont get any kind of maternity leave benefits. My boss has said she would save my job so I plan to leave a week or 2 before my set due date ( unless emergency pops up like being put on bed rest) then go back after 6 wks (vaginal delivery) or 8 wks ( csection) after the date I have given birth. As long as I keep up with communication with my boss she said we should have no problems about me keeping my job.

I'm weighing it up too. I can take a year and go back to my old role, but the last three months are unpaid. I'm missing work already and my baby is only 5 weeks.
